Forensic Psychology Technical Assistance

Forensic Psychology is the field that connects Psychology and Law. Situated at the intersection of these two sciences, it applies psychological knowledge, methods, and instruments to the legal context with the goal of understanding human behavior, assessing mental health conditions, and providing technical-scientific support in judicial proceedings.

Psychology and Law, although distinct in their objectives, are complementary fields: both are dedicated to understanding human behaviors and, together, contribute to fairer and more well-founded decisions.

Within this field, technical assistance represents a practice aimed at responding to specific legal demands, acting directly in the construction of technical evidence in judicial proceedings. In this role, the psychologist critically analyzes the psychological study resulting from the expert examination, formulates questions that clarify points that were overlooked or contradictory, and challenges with technical rigor the analyses and conclusions produced by the court-appointed psychologist.

My role as a forensic psychologist

Unlike the expert appointed by the judge, I work as an assistant hired by the party to ensure that the psychological aspects of the case are analyzed with scientific rigor and professional ethics. I monitor, question, and complement expert evaluations, ensuring that no relevant detail is overlooked and that psychological knowledge is applied correctly and transparently.

My areas of practice

  • Public Service Selection Processes – technical contestation of psychological assessments in competitive selection processes
  • Occupational Health and Labor – analysis of causal and concurrent causation and workplace harassment, based on technical criteria recognized by scientific literature
  • Family Courts – preparation of psychological reports in cases involving child custody, parental alienation, and situations of vulnerability
  • Criminal and Civil Courts – technical support in cases involving personality assessment, civil capacity, and criminal responsibility
  • Labor Courts – assessment of the psychological impact of working conditions and abusive labor relations

Why count on my support in your case?

Poorly conducted psychological assessments, superficial reports, or conclusions lacking scientific backing can seriously compromise the outcome of a case. I am here to ensure that the psychological dimension is treated with the seriousness it deserves — protecting your rights through solid, ethical, and scientifically grounded arguments.

Terapia Cognitivo Comportamental (TCC)

CBT 's Benefits

CBT is a very effective psychotherapeutic treatment for many mental health conditions, but it may not be the best approach for everyone. In psychotherapy, we don't work with the idea that one size fits all and it's important to assess whether this therapeutic approach is right for you.

Some examples of the benefits are:

  • It helps to develop a healthy self-esteem;
  • It helps with relaxation as you learn to respond better to your symptoms;
  • It is highly structured, collaborative and problem-solving oriented;
  • You learn useful and practical strategies that you can use in your day-to-day life, even after the treatment has finished;
  • Focuses on the individual's ability to change themselves and develop more rational thought processes;
  • It can be conducted over a relatively short period of time compared to other psychotherapeutic approaches;
  • It can be as effective as psychotropic drugs in the treatment of some mental health problems and can work in cases where pharmacological treatment alone has not worked.

Indications

It is a type of treatment that has been shown to be useful for people suffering from conditions such as:

  • Panic Disorder
  • Depression
